PRESS RELEASE For Immediate Release

Geneva, March 12, 2025

Noble Alliance highlighted the importance of the human-animal bond in conflict situations by visiting the iconic "Broken Chair" monument in Geneva on March 11, 2025. Standing in front of the United Nations Building, this powerful symbol of civilian suffering caused by armed violence served as the backdrop for Noble Alliance's photo session to raise awareness about the importance of protecting humanity's greatest allies in times of crisis.

Accompanied by Frehel who served as our "Dog-model", Noble Alliance's golden retriever Chief Petriots Officer, the organization will stimulate discussions on the impact of conflict. Stefano Gnes, Noble Alliance President and Co-Founder, emphasized "The relationship between humans, animals, and the environment is interconnected. We must keep in mind that animals, too, are severely affected by conflict and rely on us for their safety. By integrating them into crisis response and recovery, we not only save lives for all species, but also build more resilient communities.”

Heroes of Emergencies and Recovery

In times of crisis, the contributions of companion animals are hard to overstate. From search-and-rescue dogs, medical alert dogs, and animals assisting with humanitarian mine clearance in conflict zones, to their roles in disaster response and supporting emergency teams, animals are there in countless ways. In addition to service and working animals, pets provide much-needed emotional support, offering comfort to displaced families, first responders, and others facing immense emotional stress.

Even in the aftermath of crises, animals remain integral to recovery efforts. Service and companion animals provide both emotional and physical support, helping individuals rebuild their lives, restore their routines, and regain stability in the chaos.“From the front lines of crises to the long road to recovery, animals are there—heroes in the struggle to heal, rebuild, and move forward,” said Vera Gualdi, Co-Founder and Vice President of Noble Alliance. “They offer comfort, stability, and hope in the most difficult moments, allowing survivors to regain strength and begin the healing process.” She also emphasized the reciprocal nature of this bond: “Companion animals stand by us in times of peace and conflict alike. Why abandon them when they need us most?
