Geneva, Switzerland — 24.06.2026 Petriots Cities, the international initiative of Noble Alliance dedicated to advancing pet-inclusive urban policy, was featured on the animal affairs segment of Basta la Salute, the flagship health programme broadcast by RaiNews24.
Presented by renowned journalist Gerardo D'Amico, Basta la Salute is one of Italy's leading public service television programmes covering health, medicine and scientific developments. Its dedicated animal segment regularly explores veterinary medicine, animal welfare, and the growing connections between human, animal and environmental health.
The feature introduced viewers to the Petriots Cities initiative and its mission to support municipalities in recognising and strengthening the human–animal bond through evidence-informed public policy. The programme highlighted the increasing importance of companion animals within urban governance and presented Petriots Cities as an emerging international platform for collaboration among cities committed to developing more pet-inclusive communities.
The broadcast also presented findings from the Petriots Cities 2026 Global City Survey, the first global comparative survey of municipal companion animal governance, which gathered responses from 43 cities across 25 countries and eight United Nations world regions. The survey documents how cities are approaching companion animal policy, identifies common governance challenges, and highlights growing international interest in peer learning and cooperation.
"We are grateful to RaiNews24 and to Gerardo D'Amico for providing national visibility to a subject that is becoming increasingly relevant for cities around the world," said Stefano Gnes, Co-Founder of Noble Alliance. "Companion animals are no longer viewed solely through the lens of animal welfare. They are increasingly recognised as part of broader conversations on public health, social cohesion, housing, emergency preparedness and urban quality of life."
The appearance represents another important milestone for Petriots Cities as it continues to build an international Community of Practice connecting municipal leaders, policymakers, researchers and practitioners working to strengthen the place of companion animals within urban policy.
Noble Alliance extends its sincere thanks to the editorial team of Basta la Salute for their interest in the initiative and for helping bring this important conversation to a wider public audience.
