New Noble Alliance Program Teaches Kids How to Safely Befriend Dogs
Simple, Practical Lessons for Families and Schools
Noble Alliance Association, a Geneva-based nonprofit, today launched Be a Dog’s Best Friend, a friendly, easy-to-use program to help kids learn how to interact safely and kindly with dogs. The program focuses on teaching basic skills—like asking permission before petting a dog and understanding a dog’s body language—through fun activities and clear guidelines.
What’s in the Program?
Meet Frehel: A friendly dog character who shows kids what dogs like (gentle pets, playtime) and don’t like (loud noises, tail-pulling).
Simple Safety Rules: Straightforward tips, such as "Never hug a dog without asking" and a 4-step way to greet dogs safely.
Hands-On Activities: Kids can role-play, make "Dog Care Checklists," and earn certificates for learning good habits.
Help for Adults: Easy advice for parents and teachers to guide kids and keep interactions positive.
“Dogs are part of our families and communities,” said a Noble Alliance team member. “This program isn’t complicated—it’s about helping kids understand how to be gentle, safe, and confident around dogs.”
Who Can Use It? Perfect for schools, community groups, or families at home. The materials are free, flexible, and designed to work for kids of all ages.
